Jasmine Cephas Jones "Blue Bird"

Following her time in Hamilton as Peggy and Maria, Jasmine Cephas Jones turned to songwriting as a new form of expression. Inspired by her time in Los Angeles, she began writing as a way to navigate complex emotions, embracing the idea that it’s okay to feel down or blue. This perspective shaped Blue Bird, an EP that brings together elements of Pop and R&B, carried by her rich, soulful voice.

The cover art for Blue Bird and its singles, Wild Thing, Wild Thing Remix featuring Daveed Diggs, and Little Bird, maintains a cohesive visual identity through typography. Each piece centers on a poetic photograph, with a modern serif typeface that was customized to add distinct character. While the imagery shifts, the consistent type treatment connects the covers as part of the same story, reflecting the introspective nature of the music. Designed for digital release, the artwork establishes an elegant yet understated aesthetic for this chapter of her artistry.
