Don't Be Afraid

Like many people during and soon after 2020, I turned to a creative outlet that brings me comfort and helps me feel most like myself: music. While I’ve spent years writing songs meant to be sung, I’ve found that in recent years, instrumental music has become a more natural way for me to express what I’m feeling.

“Don’t Be Afraid” is a fully instrumental single, created with the intention of offering comfort during uncertain and weird times. It begins with a sense of tension that  gradually loosens into something lighter and more hopeful as it progresses. “Asterope” felt like a fitting companion since it carries forward that uplifting feeling. It’s an instrumental I worked on back in 2006 and fine-tuned for this release.
